A new continuous collision detection and physics library is available. Also a general forum for physics developers and researchers is online: Open source and Free for commercial use (although I would wait until a more mature version for the latter, before using it for your surgical simulation) Main features: - discrete collision detection using GJK - time of impact calculation for general convex objects under rotation and translation - raycast on general convex objects (implicit & polyhedral, implementation of Gino van den Bergen's GDC 2004 paper) - algebraic time of impact using screwing motion - persistent manifold generation between general convex objects, and convex-concave.
