Alpha transparency with GDI

Here's the deal, I want to fade a bitmap out gradually, Any ideas on how to acheive this using pure GDI (i.e.: no GDI+). Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks a bunch for your time :-)

I found this, it looks useful. Also see the linked article on GDI's alpha blending functions.
