When I've got the DirectX SDK installed, when Morrowind loads I get a flashing pink and green screen. The racing in Juiced is also completely gray, the only thing I can see is the HUD. I did some testing and found this went away when it wasn't installed. Is there anything that would cause this? Maybe something I could disable so I don't have to pick between them? Thanks heaps!

The flashing green and pink is an indicator of the debug runtime to show the screen has been swapped but not cleared.

In the control panel there should be a DirectX applet. Open it and toggle between release and debug runtime.

Tsk tsk...naughty games not working right in debug mode. I'd hate to see the DX debug output while running those [oh]

Oh yea, for future reference, while developing DirectX apps in debug mode and playing games on the same machine, you will experience a pretty severe slow-down. It sends some games, like Halo, to a crawl. I guess just put it in the back of your mind that you have to switch to release whenever you want to fire up a game [smile]

I don't know how many times I've sat there and wondered what going on for 10 minutes...
