Convolution, glAccum()

Hi all! has anyone experience is implementing a convolution? im not speaking about a manual code, where u simply write the formula, but a fast mode, using glAccum for example. my job is: reading the framebuffer, shading the texture (convolve it with a matrix) then rewrite the framebuffer. i would appreciate any examples and help, becouse glAccum is not really clear for me.
