I started in OpenGL last year at uni and made a semi succesfull asteroids simulation. I used some very basic skills such as rotation and basic texturing but feel that i need to move onto something more advanced. Obviously thats easy to say but somehwat harder to do. Therefore i was wondering if you guys could give me something challengng yet doable in a fairly short time period so i can work on soem harder skills. I know its lazy no thinking of something myself but i would probably then just work well within my limits. Cheers

Well...Why not take your game and make it better? Better graphics, I mean. Try sticking in some simple MD2 models or something like that. OR take another classic game (pong or tetris) and spice up the graphics.

try texturing with blending.
construct a space environemnt with stars, and nebulas blending
into other nebulas, and maybe a planet or two.
