[.net] Display Line Numbers

i'm making a gcode IDE. Is thier a way to make a text box display line numbers? or does someone know a control that does display line numbers? or does someone know a way to tell the location of the carret in the text box?

well, if no one knows of a control that does this, does anyone have any ideas about how i should go about making it?

You could use a sort of listbox control, using multiple columns. In the first column you could automatically display line numbers.

What programming language are you using? What operating system are you targeting? What widget toolset are you using, if any?

Take a look at Scintilla. It's a source code editor control. In the related section there are a bunch of links to ports of the control, including a .NET port, although that seems slightly outdated.

That's the solution I'd take if I were making my own control. The only probably is that a listbox breaks up the contents into a list [smile]. Scintilla looks pretty powerful.
