Hi, I just want to say "tell me when three minutes have passed." How do I do this? Thanks!

Have a timer that updates and add the ability to register a callback for a specific time or delta. That way you can register any method to happen when the time or delta reaches a certain point.

Where is the .NET utility class to do this? I need a class that can keep exact time in a separate thread and stop when a certain number of ticks has been reached.

There is a Timer class under the namespace System.Timers. You can read more about it here.
