I'm just starting out with DirectX 9 (managed code, C#) using 'Managed DirectX 9 Kick Start'. Chapter 5 brings in x files but does not define them. The SDK documentation mentions x files but I cannot find a format specification (at least I cannot find any obvious reference). Where is the x file format defined? Regards, Bob Gomersall.

Hi there BogGomersall,
How are you doing?

[The DirectX File .x]
As you might know, the X file format is a DirectX mesh format.
But you want to know how the file is formatted right?

[The DirectX File Format]
The DirectX File Format Reference

From here you can see how the x file format is encoded in different types. If this is not what you wanted. I do apologize.

Good luck.

Thanks for this reference. I was concentrating on the 'Managed' info and never thought to check the C++ info!

Bob.
