Hi, hopefully just an easy one. I'm a newb at 3ds - started my first basic model - A 'Recognizer' from the film Tron. Completed the model - but now was just wondering how to apply a material to make it look as it should. Black with red outline (which I would eventually like to make self luminous) Example: Image hosted by TinyPic.com Any ideas, Cheers ScottyB

you can achieve that look by cell shade rending your model. google search tutorials for cell shading on whichever software you are using.

i've also seen a creative cell shade effect where the model is duplicated, scaled up or "pushed" (3dsmax term) and all of the normals are flipped giving their model that illusion.
