im pretty new to 3d modelling and 3d games, and i was wondering how to put multiple different animations into the same .x file, using milkshape i can make single animations well enough, but is there any way to have for example, a "Walk" and an "Attack" animation, both contained in the same file like i said, i am new to 3d stuff, so the answer is probably pretty obvious, but any help whatsoever would be appreciated thanks

You put all of the animations one-after-the other. In MilkShape you would make one long animation that has all of the motions. In your graphics API you specify which of those frames to draw at any given time. For example if you animate the character taking a stride frome frame 1-60, have your game loop through frames 1-60. then if he attacks you can go from 60-90 once, if that's where your attack animation is.
