Need Help With OpenAL Source Properties!

Hello ppl. I Have some questions about OpenAL source properies. I can't find any tutorial that explains deeper source properties like AL_ROLLOFF_FACTOR, AL_REFERENCE_DISTANCE, AL_MIN_GAIN, AL_MAX_GAIN and this stuff... can someone explain to me deeper this properties. and what values i must set to this properties to get more.. realistic sound? is there some formula or something? thank you.
