water reflection maps

Hi, I do the refraction/reflection map trick for my water. However, when I use the clip plane, there is a pixel sized seam where the water intersects with the terrain. This is even before tex coord perturbation. I tried to raise the clip plane just a tad, and this helps, but it can lead to other artifacts and depends on the size of the waves--using sum of sines for geometry low frequency waves and normal map for high frequency waves. How do you get rid of it?
