Im looking at NeHe lesson 18, the one about quadrics. NeHe creates one GLUquadricObj, and passes it to all the quadric calls (ie. gluSphere). What exactly is the GLUquadricObj for? Is it to store the quadric? It doesnt look like he's storing anything at all though. The reason for my question is that i need to draw multiple spheres. Do i need one GLUquadricObj for each sphere? Or can i just make one and pass it around? Thanks.

hmmm.. i tried it both ways (1 quadric for all spheres and a seperate one for each sphere), and it seems to be working fine. One thing that puzzles me though is that when i use one quadric object for all spheres, it uses *more* memory than when i create a quadric object for each sphere. Why is that?

By the way, i make a display list for each sphere.
