The current speed of the download from microsofts website(the august 2005 SDK update) is currently at 3.9 kb/sec. My line is probably "more than T1". Why the heck does it take this long??? Is there anywhere else i can download it? Thanks for helping out! EDIT: It dropped to 3.3 now.

Thanks. I also noticed that all SDK downloads are damn slow. I juts took a test and started downloading of the 9.0 SDK. It's currently at 6.0kb/sec.

Again, thanks for the link!

You might just be finding that their servers are being overrun at the moment... There are a lot of beta's just kicking off (e.g. WinVista) as well as the DX SDK being quite popular and a new release.

Maybe give it a couple of hours or leave it a day and it'll be okay again [smile]

Thanks jollyjeffers! The problem is that i'm leaving tomorrow, and won't be back in a week. But i'll just let it go, and see what happens.

I found the same thing the other day when I downloaded the Windows XP 64 trial, but it eventaully did speed up. (From about 4kbps to 35-40kbps).

Oh, and I'm pretty sure Microsoft keeps pretty tight tabs on where you can download this stuff from, as it has to go through their 'genuine windows verification'. So other than ordering the CDS (which in my experience is pretty quick, at least when I ordered Visual Studio 2005 Beta 2), you'll just have to wait on the download.
