When you make a pointer, line int* blah, in C or C++, what kind of information does it contain? It probably contains an address of what it refers to. I also heard it contains the length of the buffer it refers to if you use malloc or new. Does it contain anything else except that?

It contains an address, that's it. It doesn't contain the length of the buffer if you use malloc() or new.

(edit: unless your pointer is a pointer to member function, in which case it can contain all sorts of stuff.)
