texture blending

hello, im writing a tile based game,but how can i blend two different tile's textures together to show them realistic. I mean for example i have grass and a mountaion,but at the edges,they need to be blended,i ask the transition in direct3d :)

Do you mean blending the mountain and the grass texture in the same place, one on top of the other, or the dges of the tiles.

Well that article may still help. First you have to decide whether one of the tiles does all the blending, for example the mountain gets blended onto the grass and the mountain tile stays the same, or vice versa. Or whether you want both tiles to blend a bit of each other.

I know of no special way of doing this except normal blending.
