C++ /wp64 option

When I turn on the /w64 option in the c++ 2005 beta 2 which detects 64-bit portability problems on types that are also marked with the __w64 keyword I get alot of errors regarding parameters I pass to the windows functions. When I turn this option off, everything goes well. Should I be consered about this ? (This option check portability for 64 bit compiler) I mean, for now I don't see a need to use 64 bit applications, but maybe in the future I will, so do I need to do something about it now ??
