I need some code to help read from/write to Microsoft Visual Studio 2003 .Net solution(.sln) and C++ project files(.vcproj). Have anyone found some code to does something like this? EDIT: The code can be in either C#, C++, C or Python

prj2make can read in .sln files and spit out makefiles. You'll have to find a working download, though, as the sources can't be found in Novell Forge.

I generate .vcproj files by just using a hand-made template file and basically string-replacing the relevent sections. To make it even eaiser, you can remove the GUID field and MSVC will generate it itself.

The .vcproj files are simple XML, It should be easy enough to get an XML library and use that to create or modify them in a more complex way. If you hunt around in the MSDN, I know there is a specification for the format somewhere (although you can guess it by just looking an existing file).

The solution files are harder. I'm not sure how best to handle those. They're still plain text, though, so it can't be too hard. I've not really worried about handling them, as MSVC auto-generates them when given a .vcproj file, and they're small so creating/editing them in MSVC is easy enough anyway.
