When a user loads my game I want to read and save the current screen setting of my users Windows based PC monitor, change the resolution to suit my game and then reset the resolution to the original when the user exits my game. I am using Visual Studio, DOT NET Framework and C#. Help please.

Unless you are making a full-screen app, changing the resolution is a no-no. If it is full screen, you are probably using DirectX and you set the resolution when you create the device. Once the device loses control of the machine the resolution is reset to the value from before.

Thank you. I am an old programmer but new to C# and .Net so at this moment I do not fully understand what is DirectX but I will research it and will work on the solution you suggest as it is obviously the correct approach.
