I've been using VS 2003 to program in VB.NET for a couple years, and I have noticed how Intellisense not only completes things for you, it gives descriptions of methods and what exactly their arguments are supposed to be. Is there any way to do anything like this for custom classes? Some format of comments that inserts the comment when the function is selected on intellisense? I've tried a couple things that didn't work. Is this actually possible, or just wishful thinking?

Download the VB Commenter PowerToy for VS.NET. Its on the gotdotnet.com team ide site. Then you can use triple single quotes to use the normal XML commenting that works with C#.

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/csref/html/vclrfTagsForDocumentationComments.asp

You can also use nDoc to generate MSDN, JavaDoc style documentation from your custom classes, if you use the commenter tool.

The XML comments (used for intellisense) are built into VS.NET for C#, I have no idea why they didn't support it for VB.NET :(

Maybe they will include XML comment support for VB.NET 2005.
