Hope this isn't a duplicate post but i posted last night about this and can't find it anywhere on the forums now. I'm having trouble with the .find() function in MSVC++. Could someone please write me an If statement who's condition is True if something like the letter 'a' isn't NOT found within a string variable? I know this is a simple task but i can't figure out what find() returns when it does not find the string. Thanks -Lordoftools

Assuming you're talking about std::string::find():

index = str.find('a');
if (index == std::string::npos) {
// not found
}
