I am currently writing my own 3d engine for learning experience. I'm already pretty proficient in c++ so I'm taken the next learning step. My project is still at it's infancy, but so far I have an MD2 model loaded and sound playing, etc. It's all in the webpage there. Right now I am trying to implement a "scene graph", and my question is, is this the next logical step? I also can't find much on scene graphs on the almighty google aside from pre-made scene graphs and some tutorials are vague to say the least.

another good attempt would be to create your own GUI and a map loading code that allows you to load maps without restarting/recompiling your application
and writing a GUI is a nice and interesting piece of work where you see you results immediately

thats what i d do next
