Hi! For a project I am working on, I would like to be able to change voice clips from .wav to .mp3 for better storage. I am a bit leery about downloading software for fear of spyware or adware. Could someone please give me the link to such a conversion program that is 100% malware free? Thanks! =)

You will need to download the lame mp3 encoder, and place the dll inside the audacity folder before exporting mp3s.

Note that there are a lot of legal issues involved in creating and distributing .mp3 files. I would highly recommend that you use the Ogg Vorbis format, which is open source and highly popular. And there are many free libraries that support it, as well.

Seconded. If you're going to distribute your project with mp3 support you might run into patent issues. If you absolutely have to use mp3, you can get licensing info at the Thomson web site.
