Hi! I want to grab a portion of a window (or maybe all of it) and save it as a picture. I know how to do this within a program I myself have done (C++), but I cant figure out how to grab a screen from other window programs... Can anyone help my on my way? Regards Mattias

As an addition: You can't copy data from a window if it's obscured by another window (E.g. a background window, or minimized). It might seem obvious, but I had this problem at one point. BitBlt succeeds, but the obscured section just came up as black.

Yeah! This happened to me also when tried to grab the BACK buffer of an OpenGL context when the window (FRONT) was obscured by a control dialog of the same app.

In this case djurens can put the window to grab as the topmost or even HIDE temporarily other windows, redraw the window of interest, grab it, restore the states of the modified windows .
