How to load GIF images? I appreciate if you show a tutorial or a code how to do it.

I would use an image loading libray like DevIL.

It's not that simple to implement a gif encoder!!!

Use DevIL or FreeImage (powerful and simple).

There is also ImageMagick : it's above everything else but it's hard, in my opinion, to set up and manage.

My preference is slightly for FreeImage (try both)
