Was wondering if anyone on the list had any tricks to ID a specific phone model a MIDlet is running on. currently using java.lang.System.getProperty() with the help of http://developers.sun.com/techtopics/mobility/midp/questions/properties/ Canvas for screen x/y/depth Any ways I'm not currently seeing anyway to get device RAM or any other metrics to uniquly ID a phone. Any suggestions or is the best that I can hope for. Edit: Linkified

This might help a little:
http://www.club-java.com/TastePhone/J2ME/MIDP_Benchmark.jsp
If you look at the second last column it will show the value for microedition.platform attribute for those phones listed here.
As you can see all the phones dont give any good info about it self, but this is the technique I know so far.
Hope this helps.

Thanks alot, looks like microedition.platform is a good metric to start from. It's nice to see that the OEM's actually went so far as to label out the model there. (Unlike Brew, but then again there is more information the can be retrieved by the device to determine phone model at runtime.)
