I made an infinite desert at http://www.coolgroups.com/desert/ that you can walk around in. If you could tell me what kind of frame rate it pulls on your computer, I'd be very interested in knowing.

It works on my machine, which is winxp with an ATI something or other. A few slowdowns, but it may be other things. You need to implement an FPS counter yourself if you want me to tell you how many FPS it gets :) Good job. Now - multitexturing, foliage, level editor! Do it now!

Well, you can use the tool called Fraps to get the FPS. I did it at the library, and it was a disappointing 30 fps. However, I have some good ideas for improving it (such as more triangles up front but WAY fewer in the back... so there will be fewer overall).

What do you mean by slowdowns? I think it should work at a roughly constant rate. If it's slow, I think it should be constantly slow.

Didn't notice the demo when posted to devimg.org. Runs smooth on my 1.3GHz AMD, GeForce 4 MX 440- :)
