I got a "game" built with bmp's. But when I load the bmp's there is a white shape around the images which does the ground not seeable. Anyone knows how to fix this?

If you want to stick with BMPs, I'd suggest you read through NeHe's masking tutorial - that's what you're looking for.
Another way would be to use TGA files with an alpha channel. The alpha channel tells which parts of the image are transparent. There is also a NeHe tutorial on that.
