I am having troubles rendering my windows in opengl. I draw the corners, and stretch the sides, top and bottom, and the center color to fit the window constraints. here is an example of what i do: and i know the polygons are always right up against each other: but when i stretch it, sometimes it tears like this: how can i avoid this? is there a better way to do what i am doing? Thanks for your help.

Hmmmm, don't know, maybe you should show us some code (but not too much, and don't forget to put it inside [ source ] tags)?

when you create the texture set the textureenv border to GL_CLAMP (used to be GL_CLAMP_SGIS) this will prevent this artifact.
