OpenGL opengl rendering contexts

Does anyone know if the OpenGL state information is kept on a per-context basis? i.e. Say you did a glPushMatrix() from context 1 and then switched to context 2 in the same application, and there is only 1 thread. If you did a glPopMatrix() would you get back the matrix you pushed back from context 1? I'm guessing they would be seperate?
