I am making a program that lets users create 3D virtual worlds for the internet in VRML format. At the moment it creates single-user worlds. I would like to make my software useful for people who want to make multi-user worlds too. Does anyone know what I should do to make it compatible for building multi-user worlds? In particular if the user supplied their own server-side software would I need to add anything special to my VRML worlds like provide avatars for multi-users? As far as I'm aware there is nothing in VRML which helps you make multi-user worlds. If anyone knows of a website that explains about this it would be very useful.
