I'm having a bit of a problem with assigning vert colors in max 7, and I was hoping that one of you out there could shed some light on it..heh ;) Basicly I'm trying to burn lighting information into the verts for a level, and am getting weird sharp edges and unpredictable results in some cases. This only occurs on some pieces of geometry, and only when I have the "cast shadows" box checked. I've checked all the shading groups, and they're correct, and I've dabbled in looking at the vert normals, but I'm not too sure what I'm looking at there so...? In my scene I have a targeted directional light with shadow casting turned on for my main light, and various directional lights with shadow casting turned off for fills.....any ideas? I'm not very familiar with Max's vert lighting tools so maybe I'm doing something wrong...? Thanks for the help!
