I ran the debugger on my program today and the following was output: Program received signal (SIGSEGV) Segmentation fault It appears to have some corrilation with DirectDraw for when I include the ddraw.h file and link the library the program is fine but as soon as I add this code segment:
LPDIRECTDRAW ddtemp;
HRESULT result;
LPDIRECTDRAW7 ddobj;

result = DirectDrawCreate( NULL, &ddtemp, NULL );

result = ddtemp->QueryInterface( IID_IDirectDraw7, (LPVOID *)&ddobj );
The seg fault occurs... Any ideas?

This is driving me insane... I dont see how a seg fault can occur from code that is never executed. The following is located within the member of a generalized base class:

bool DirectDraw::Initialize()
{
LPDIRECTDRAW7 ddobj;
HRESULT result;

DirectDrawCreateEx( NULL, (LPVOID*)&ddobj, IID_IDirectDraw7, NULL );

}

The class is never constructed nor the member function Initialize() ever called. The seg fault is yielded before main executes, however the code lies within a function that is never called. If I comment out the DirectDrawCreateEx function the seg fault disappears.

Help!
