I'm making a texture collection that includes normal maps that will hopefully be useful for game designers. But since I'm not a game maker myself, I'm not sure how to test my normal maps to see how they look when applied to something. Can anyone please let me know of any free utility that will render my normal maps in 3D so that I can check how they look? And if there aren't any good free tools for this, what's the cheapest/best option? Thank you!

You can pick up the free ATI normal map generators and viewers at:

http://www.ati.com/developer/tools.html

I think it's all in the NormalMapper zip file halfway down the page. I've only used it once, so it would kind of be up to you to figure it out.

Unfortunately all I see there are tools for creating normal maps (which I don't need), but nothing to see what an already created normal map looks like on a surface.

EDIT: Oops, I had downloaded the wrong thing the first time. I see it now! Thank you very much! That's just what I needed!
