Just a quick question. I've skimmed through my " Teach yourself C++ in 21 days " to re-jog my memory (been a while since i've touched c++). Now I'm going to finish accelerated c++ (delightful read by the way). So here's the question. Do I have to pick up a book on the win32 API to start programming in windows? Or do I just memorize what I need to, to run a OpenGL window? OpenGL Game Programming Looks like an interesting read once I finish my text based game... which I plan to convert to 3D RPG ;)

You don't need any Win32 API programming knowledge to start with OpenGL. You can use frameworks like GLUT or SDL to generate your window for you, leaving you to concentrate on more important things like the actual game you're developing. (Though I'd use SDL over GLUT.)

K, well for now I'll stick with OpenGL after I re-familiarize myself with c++ again. And once I get a little bit of graphic work done, I'll go ahead and read up on the win32 api. Thanks.
