vs_3_0, ps_3_0 can't be used in Effects?

vs_3_0, ps_3_0 can't be used in Effects? or vs_3_0, ps_3_0 can't be used in D3D9? shader code below can be compiled in "EffectEdit", but it doesn't seem to be compiled in my D3D application : texture TEXTURE; sampler Sampler = sampler_state { Texture = <TEXTURE>; }; float4 PS_Render(float2 Tex : TEXCOORD0) : COLOR { return tex2D(Sampler, Tex); } technique Render { pass Main { PixelShader = compile ps_3_0 PS_Render(); } }

Hi,

Does your card support SM 3.0 ?
And when you compile an effect (hlsl) in D3D, you can get the compilation errors (the last parameter I think) It will tell you what's wrong with your .fx
