Draw using z-buffer but don't write to z-buffer

Hi, How can i draw z-sorted polygons without writing additional data to the z-buffer? glDisable(GL_DEPTH_TEST); is not an option as it disables the z-buffer completely.

Hi,
Has anyone had trouble with glDepthMask(FALSE) turning off depth testing altogether? Im using the nvidia glx driver.

you should start a new thread instead of hijacking this one. anyway, have a read of this newsgroup thread

You should use glDisable(GL_DEPTH_TEST) when you want to disable depth testing... :)

glDepthMask simply states if zbuffer should be affected by the current draw operation...
