Is there a way to get more than your screen's refresh rate of FPS in fullscreen mode? I think win98 used to be able to, but in xp its locked to the refresh rate. Obviously the screen cant display more than its refresh rate, but that doesnt mean you can't render extra frames right? how do games like HL2, Doom3 etc get more than the screens refresh rate of FPS?
Set you presentation interval in your D3DPRESENTPARAMETERS to this:
d3dpp.PresentationInterval = D3DPRESENT_INTERVAL_IMMEDIATE;
