I am a total DirectX newbie and need to create some X files for DirectX. I am wondering if Soft Image is a workable tool for doing this. We have a large library of 3D models and experience in Soft Image that would be nice to leverage if possible, but we're willing to learn a new tool if it that is what is required to be effective. From what I read about SoftImage's X file support, it has the ability to export X files, but from the doc it seems not to include support for the exporting of lighting and textures. Is this true and is there a better way to do this? Some general guidence it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, --M.
