[.net] Managed DX and Cg

I'm having problems with using more than 1 device with Cg at the same time, I have a form with 2 panels (different sizes) each rendering a different view of a 3d object. The GUI is c# and the Cg calls are managed c++, in theory I just call cgD3D9SetDevice with the device I want before I draw to it, but I get the 2 views drawing either the same thing or the wrong one for that panel on and off. From what I can see cgD3D9SetDevice must not take instant effect when its called, as i've tried locking resources so that the 2 panels definetly cant paint at the same time. I'm not really sure whats going on behind the cgD3D9SetDevice call or how to fix this problem, anyone?

Although I haven't really experimented with it, The Tao Framework has a CG interpretation for .NET that pretty much gives you all the P/Invoked functions along with their in-code XML documentation.
