anyone got any ideas on this? I've got a sort of bloom effect going on...but it's a full-screen post-process effect...so not only does the horizon get the effect ( whichi is what I want ), but the landscape gets it as well...........and everything else on screen. How can I mask what isn't the horizon?

Hi there RavNaz,
How are you doing?

The Problem
Post process bloom effect on just a certain part of the screen.

The Solution
If you are using it as a post process effect, I would say that you might want to consider clipping it using stencilling. Look into stencil buffers.

NVidia : using Stencil Buffer
Gamasutra : Inside Direct3D Stencil Buffers

I hope this helps. Take care buddy.
