Shareware publishers-who are the good guys?

Recommended Posts

I heard a lot of horror stories about con publishers. So being a small noob indie who have no experience at all in business, I dont want to be eaten alive. I got a shooter demo game, the good guys publishers who came in mind are 1.Popcap games(Heavy Weapon) 2.Ermm Retro64?(Platypus) 3.Yahoo??(They trashed Gmail) Any other publishers I can submit my demo to?? From reading most of your posts, I'd recommend you track down and read the IGDA Casual Games whitepaper.

(may require a free registration if you're not an IGDA member)

The SIG on casual games is frequented by most of the large distributors in the Casual space, and provides a vital resource for developers that want to publish successfully.

Garage Games, who are responsible for the Torque Engine will publish indie titles, even if you don't use their engine. However, I believe they won't just take anything and like to avoid simple shooters and what-not. Either way, worth a try. They are very genuine when it comes to the industry and I've heard nothing but good things about them.
