Sector appointed by hand or automatic generated ?

Like subject .Generally , How to generate "Sectors" for portal engine?By hand ?automatic generated?

Usually ( for example Unreal series ) they are manually generated.
In fact you have to create sectors and/or suggest occluders in the editor.
I dont exclude they can be refined with other algorithms (something like the PVS generated by Quake BSP engine...).
Obviously we wait for a more precise opinion...[smile]

Generating 'good' sectors automatically is a hard problem. I think most portal engines will require you to hand-edit the sectors.

I think generating sector automatically very hard ,but also do it by hand-edit very bald and slow . I want to design a algorithm that can generating sector automatically ,then adjust and edit sectors what is otiose and bad in editor .thanks .
