I was wondering if anyone knew of or had come across any tutorials or articles relating to data streaming and dynamic loading for 2D games..? I'm building a 2D side-scrolling stealth actioner and i'm planning on creating an engine which allows me to dynamically load map data in and out of the game in real time, thus allowing me to create a very very large seamless cityscape environment.. So i'm just wondering if anyone has any links that maybe useful to me regarding methods of approach, example source code, algorithms or maybe optimisation tips that I can have a flick through for inspiration and guidance on solid (elegant) implementation approaches.. Thnx guys!
