OpenGL OpenGL app output to two monitors in Linux?

Could someone please explain to me how I could create an OpenGL application that would display graphics on two separate monitors in full screen mode under Linux? From what I understand, I can specify which display to use when I call glutInit. What I don't understand is how I can output to both displays. Would I need a separate thread for each display and each of the threads would call glutInit? If it matters, I am using the Intel 915G chipset. Thanks, Dave

Connect the 2 monitors in Horizontal Span mode and create a window that spans both monitors and simply draw it. If you want to draw different things to each monitor, use separate glViewport's.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, that's a start but if that's the standard way of doing it then I have a couple of questions.
- How do I configure X to support this for the 915G? I managed to find some instructions for nVidia chipsets but not Intel.
- Will both screen be acclerated?
- If no one here can help then where is a good place to find this information myself? I hate asking potentially newbish questions but I'm having a very difficult time finding Linux information on this. It's like trying to find a needle in a haystack except the needle is in 1000 pieces.

Thanks,
Dave

I don't know how to do this on Linux using Intel chip sets.

If you had properly connected in Horizontal Span, it should be fully accelerated.
