Is there an equivalent in D3D of OpenGL's Pixel Buffer Object (PBO) extension? I need it for Render-to-Vertex-Array. Thanks. -SirKnight

If you have shader model 3 card, you can read from a texture in a vertex shader. Otherwise, no.

As a workaround, you can read back a rendertarget texture into system memory and send it back to the card as vertex stream. However, this may slow your app down considerably.
