Grayscale scenery (?)

How do I force the scene just rendered into grayscale? Do I have to capture the framebuffer and hack it as a texture (and how?), or is it possible to do with rendering a quad over the scene with some weird blending options? Just thought it would make a great effect. Thanks!

Hi,

a solution is to render the scene into a render target and then in a pixel shader use the equation
(R, G, B) = Y = 0,2126 * R + 0,7152 * G + 0,0722 * B
to render the grayed image to the screen.
