Hey, I'm wondering if I can use my PC connection cable that for my TI-83+ SE(it's usb on one end, goes into a little box, then to a little plug that looks a bit like a headphone jack, but obviously smaller [it's semi-silverish-grey, like the 83 plus SE]). Does anybody know if this will work with the TI-89? thanks, PulsarSL p.s. - this is the cable here - http://education.ti.com/images/spliced/83pse_cablephoto.jpg

I'm not very sure what's your question? If I'm not mistaken I have the same cable and it works fine for me just the download the software from the TI web site the link-cable and you should be all set. TI Here's a more directly link to the software TI Connect. After downloading this program restart your computer, and I'm not mistaken a windows box will pop-up on reboot, telling you something about CMD.something. I don't read, I just close it and that should be it. The software program should be straight forward, but if any thing just leave a post. I hope this helped!

Good Luck!

I just wanted to know if the TI-83's cable (IDK, maybe it's not TI-83 specific??) can be used for the TI-89, but now I'm thinking it's the same for all calcs (it's called the TI-graph cable or something, so it might just be general).

Thanks!

Failing that, (I don't know how crap the TI-Connect software is with the 89, it's utter crap for the 83+ series so it might complain) you could always use TiLP or similar which are much faster and don't require one of those naff custom user interfaces TI seem to like.
The USB cable seems a bit of an odd one, so if you have problems with that you can easily make your own serial cable in about 10 minutes (it's a couple of resistors and an LED!)
