Progressive Mesh problem

hi I use :
hr = D3DXGeneratePMesh(SourceMesh,(DWORD*)adjBuffer->GetBufferPointer(), 0, 0, 1, D3DXMESHSIMP_FACE, &PMesh);
to create a PMesh out of loaded SourceMesh, and call SetNumFaces( num ); but the number of faces doesn't change by any value, and I always have the same maximum number by calling GetNumFaces(). and every call returns S_OK how can I get progressive mesh work ? Am I missing any point here ? thanks

Isn't the mesh.clean method required before you call the generate progressive mesh function?

problem solved, it was the D3DXCleanMesh that I was missing
