I'm trying to create a website for a class project where when a person makes an offer for the seller's item, I'll have a script that sends an email message to the seller stating the buyer's name, buyer's email, etc. Well, when I type the typical ASP code like this:
messagebody="<% =fname %>, <% =femail %>, has offered $<% =foffer %> for your <% =fid %> book, <% =ftitle %>.

" objNewMail.To = "<% =fsellemail %>"
It won't work. On the body message, it's saying that it has an unexpected terminated string. Apparently this isn't the way to do this, so any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

You're creating ASP code blocks inside an ASP code block. You really need to go back to basics to understand why this is completely wrong.

Well, the class kinda skipped the basics so I'm not sure what to do. I thought since the script is inside a string that it wouldn't matter, but obviously I'm wrong. I've been doing google searches for sending emails via vbscript, but I can't find anything that's like what I'm doing...any links?

Thanks!

messagebody = fname & ", " & femail & ", has offered $" & foffer & " for your " & fid & "book, " & ftitle & "."

objNewMail.To = fsellemail

You need to understand the difference between the ASP code (the stuff in the <% %>) and the HTML that is generated.
